newspapers
Over the past decade, I transformed POLITICO’s print edition from a sleepy publication into a newspaper that consistently rose to the occasion, covering the most significant stories of our time. From impeachments to insurrections to inaugurations, I planned, guided, and designed the paper until the product was retired at the end of 2025.
POLITICO’s newspaper often served as the visual flagship for the publication’s reporting. It was displayed alongside major dailies like The Washington Post in congressional offices — where Chuck Schumer was frequently spotted with a copy tucked under his arm — and my front pages were regularly featured in national roundups of major news events.
In his letter to readers on the front page of the final edition of the newspaper, POLITICO co-founder John Harris wrote that “the journalistic content and visual quality of the paper have never been higher.”
Prior to POLITICO, I served as the Sunday editor and 1A designer at the Democrat and Chronicle. During my tenure at my hometown paper, I modernized the front-page aesthetic while leading comprehensive redesigns of both the flagship newspaper and the company’s Our Towns publications.
